If your credit cards are maxed out, your bills are late, and you're even more depressed after you buy those expensive shoes, your retail therapy's out of control. Before you get into real trouble, get rid of checkbooks and credit cards, or at least hide them with a trustworthy person. Never shop alone, and when you get the urge, ask yourself what you really need: then take steps to fill that void.
